Normally I just run at the heavy as randomly and crazy-like as possible (zigzagging, etc). After that, I just fire off a few shots out of my Force of Nature and lay the beat down with my bat (while jumping around him - trying to dodge his bullets).

Do any scout players have good strategies / ideas to beating the Heavy?

Don't use force of nature if you're not very good at aiming. Overall it is not as good as the scattergun and frustrating for your teammates when the fan shoots enemies 20 feet away from the line of view. You can jump on the heavies head and shoot, or bat him to death.

Scattergun will definitely give you the upperhand against the heavy, and the sandman will probably be of some use.

Like Alex said I usually just run around all over the place and use the Scattergun. If not I go for the bat.

sorry that this is an older topic and all, but with heavies the key is to really take advantage of the gun spin up time. Get two shots off before he can get up his gun then retreat. If you can still hear his gun going dont go in cause you'll get wasted, let someone else finish him off. but if you wait 5-10 seconds and you dont hear the gun repeat the same tactic.

Another great one is like they said above, jump on top of its head and bash it with you bat

Hit him with the bat untill he stops moving.

When i fight against heavy's ...I first go in their back and shoot with the FaN at Point Blank range ...then finish off with the pistol

Scouts aren't too bad of a class to take down a heavy. If you can keep moving you will most likely be able to take down the heavy before your take massive damage.

Hit 'n Run is often also possible, and if you got a Scattergun and can sneak up behind the Heavy you can often do enough damage to kill him.

Still, it's not the Scout's job to kill a heavy. He should be doing more useful things like messing up snipers and grabbing cps/int....ect.
